Did you know another name for Heleniums is sneezeweed? The flowers used to be ground up to make snuff. I made this painting on one of the hottest days this summer, as they were the only flowers that survived the drought in our garden. It is available from Russell Gallery Tel 0208 780 5228

Chioggia Beets win the Dry Red Press award at the ROI exhibition at the Mall Galleries
I am delighted that this painting of Choggia Beets has been awarded the Dry Red Press award at the ROI Exhibtion at the Mall Galleries. It will be made in to a greetings card. Mall Galleries’ Digital Content Creator Beatrice Bowles-Bray wanted to find out more about the paintings that have been selected for The Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition 2018, and specifically why many artists responded to the theme of Community Spirit with portrayals of food. I spoke with Beatrice about this, and you can read the full interview with me and the other artists here: https://www.mallgalleries.org.uk/about-us/blog/behind-scenes-farm-frame…
